Insurance is compulsory when you are going to Europe. A lot of times we get stuck between which Insurance to choose and which to not. Following is the list shared by the Schengen Country Embassies wherein they have listed the companies who can provide Travel Insurance.
We have narrowed down your research and are providing ICICI Lombard and Tata AIG's travel insurance. There are 2 variants in the Insurance provided. Silver and Gold. The most imperative difference between the two is the policy amount. For Schengen Visa, 30000 Euros/similar policy amount is compulsory. Both the variants comply with the compulsory policy amount with Silver providing 50000 US Dollars and Gold providing 100000 US Dollars policy amount. You will have to select the days for which you will be visiting the Schengen area and then one of the variant for your travel insurance. You can see what those variants include and exclude in the following image.
Insurance can also be tricky sometimes as many countries have their own Insurance requirement. Some countries, for example, Spain, require an Individual to buy + 15 days of insurance. So suppose if you are going for 12 days, they will want you to buy 27 days Insurance policy. So if you are going to apply to Spain Embassy, we would request you to buy +15 days Insurance.
The Insurance which we recommend is the Gold one as the price amount is not huge between the Silver and the Gold one. You can also opt for Silver as data suggests that there has been very little usage of this particular insurance.
